This position reports to the Development Director and is responsible for supporting all areas of marketing, fundraising, and media for SideWalk. The Development Officer will establish and maintain systems to maximize our fundraising capacity and streamline the incorporation of volunteers and community members in our fundraising efforts.
Bernie Friedman began working for SideWalk in September of 2014. Working as a Sunday school teacher for the past twenty five years, encouraging his students to go out and get involved in causes they were passionate about, Bernie felt that when it came to working for change he was “talking the talk, but not walking the walk.” Bernie first heard about SideWalk at his Jewish temple, and when he learned about SideWalk’s success rate, he was inspired to get involved.
SideWalk will hold Summer Training for volunteers at the end of June. Volunteers considering a position in hospitality/greeter, or housing stability will attend the training on Monday and Wednesday (Basic Track) and then continue through subsequent training as required for the position.
