Thank you for your interest in getting involved at SideWalk,

a local nonprofit on a mission to end homelessness here in Thurston County!

This work would not be possible without volunteers and community members like you.

As a reminder, this quarter's two-day Basic Training for prospective volunteers will be taking place next week:
Tuesday July 11th and Thursday July 13th
from 1:00p.m.-4:00p.m.
Room 224 at the First United Methodist Church
(1224 Legion Way SE, Olympia, WA 98506
located on bus line 60 and one block from lines 62A, 62B and 66.)

Attending basic training is required for all volunteers seeking to directly serve clients, and is a great way to learn more about SideWalk's mission, address sensitivity and stereotypes surrounding homelessness, and practice active listening and deescalation skills. Additional training will take place in the following weeks depending on which volunteer role you think might be a good fit!

Bring your energy and enthusiasm for our community and a 3-ring binder if you happen to have one. No other materials required. If you have questions, need transportation assistance or accessibility support, please let us know how we can serve you by contacting our Community Outreach Coordinator Miguel Pineda at miguel@walkthurston.org

Thank you, and see you Tuesday!
